Hi everyone,
I've noticed you guys seem to be the experts on the 2004R.
I picked up an 87 BRF trans from a wrecking yard and have been rebuilding it myself. It's a stock BRF with a Extreme automatics super pump and an extra 4th gear clutch added. I got it in the car and it shifts nice and firm. At light normal driving it will shift 1-2 around 15mph and 2-3 around 30mph. After that it will stay in 3rd at light throttle and won't upshift unless I lift out of the throttle a little. When it shift in to 4th it's a nice firm shift and it will stay in gear unless I stomp it.
Anyone have any idea what it could be?
TV cable is adjusted correctly. I get instant pressure rise when I crack the throttle and it's bottomed at full throttle.
If I loosen up the cable even a click or 2 I loose the instant pressure rise.
My pressures are
P 100/230
R 240/240
N 100/230
D 100/230
3 100/230
2 240/240
1 240/240
If I disconnect the tv cable my pressure in D its still 100psi
The only other thing that's been changed from original is the TV limit spring. The original one was broken and I couldn't find another one so I got a spring from McMaster that was pretty close.
Anyone have any clue what this could be?
Thanks in advance.
