anyone have an idea how much 2004r cores sell for?

Depends on location & Trans code.
$100-$300 average.

Yep. Bought a couple generic cores from the local salvage yard's trans pile for $25 each, but generally speaking, $50-300. The TR "correct" BRF complete core always has a following, though lately the veteran builders have been doing wicked stuff with various low perf. coded cores.
