What shift kits are people using these days & are happy with out of the box? What is included with them? I've used an Art Carr kit in the past & my favorite (i'm going to date myself here) was a Kenne Bell kit. Unknown origin, Gill Younger maybe?? That was a GREAT shifting OTTOmatic.

our kit will produce excellent results when installed in a properly working transmission with proper tv adjustment.here is some info on it as well it is on sale for 99.00 shipped.see the link.SHIFT RECALIBRATION KIT #24RSRK/A $129.00

The main focus of this kit is to reduce clutch and band slippage common with the factory hydraulic calibration. This easy to install kit includes all the necessary parts to recalibrate the hydraulic circuitry of the GM2004R transmission for high performance street and dragstrip usage. This is accomplished in many ways.New .500" TV boost valve, and .296" intermediate boost valves and a heavy duty pressure regulator spring significantly raise transmission mainline pressure to increase clutch and band apply pressures. A new AC/DELCO seperator plate is properly orificed to increase the flow of oil to the friction elements. Re-engineered springs for the accumulator valve, line bias,1/2 accumulator ,and 3/4 accumulator, and an updated 3/4 accumulator piston introduce a throttle sensitive accumulator and pressure rise system that meets the demands of high output engines. This reduces friction element failure and excessive heat build up during and after ratio changes. This kit allows the shifts to get shorter and firmer as the throttle is opened, resulting in clean ,positive gear changes at small throttle angles without the "bangs and clunks",and short firm shifts with larger throttle angles. Most kits do not have this feature engineered into them resulting in brutal part throttle shifts that beat and break internal components as well as generate many new drivability complaints.Hundreds of these kits are in use and this kit is recognized as the best of its kind.includes all the necessary gaskets and instructions. Please note that high performance applications will benefit from the use of a larger intermediate servo to multiply the clamping force applied to the intermediate band.If your transmission is not from an 86 / 87 Buick Grand National or 89 Turbo Trans Am which was factory equipt with a high performance intermediate servo assembly, the use of a high performance servo assembly should be considered. The following 2 kits include intermediate servo assemblies.

Thank you for the info!! Are there Any other items you recommend installing at the same time?

With a stock pan, I'd do a 700 filter but you gotta be careful with the transfer tube and the 4th gear pressure switch needs a little piece of hose over the connection...Make sure it's full of fluid........Probably take close to 7 or so with the VB R&R.

I'm happy with my Real Art Carr shift kit.
