Greetings,

This is my first post and I would like to thank the site for it's help!
I have a '56 Chevy p/u with a T-350 tranny that I would like to replace.
The 200R4 looks appealing because I wouldn't need to shorten the drive shaft amd it's an easy bolt up to the engine. The engine is a sbc 350 that puts out about 330-350hp and also has a ford 9" rearend with a 3:00 ratio. I have researched this site and determined that a '89 or later 200R4 out of a grand national, monte carlo or the like is the preferred tranny. Also the lock up switch for fourth gear ($79) looks good too.
Am I on the right track?
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!!
Thanks,

Charlie

You are right on target. Great choice!

I saw your message on board at work. Still trying to get back. Got late today. Gimme another ring when you can.

Thanks for the response! I went to the junkyard today and did not come across any regals or monte carlo's in that time period, but I'm still looking.
This is gonna be an adventure, a fun one though.

Thanks,
Charlie
