200r4 won't go into 4th?

I installed a 200r4 into my 80 Turbo T/A. I was wondring why won't it shift into 4th? I have a Tci lockup switch to engage the lockup. Do I have the Tv cable not adusted right?

Could be a couple things. Yes, if your TV cable is adjusted too tight, it can prevent it from going into OD at least until a very high road speed.

Also, what type of car did the 200-4R come from? It's possible that the valve body/governor calibration does not agree well with your tire dia./gear ratio.

Did this transmission have fourth gear prior to the install in your T/A or was it rebuilt first?

Came out of a 86 grand national.
I'm going to check out the Tv cable...
