i have an 87 regal limited i know its not a gn but it has a 200r4 trans, my question is can i beef it up to handle more horse power up to 400 even though my car was a v8 i see that a gn tranny can i want to know if there a different between the v6 and v8

Mechanically they are the same just the calibration is different. The GN trans has a larger intermediate servo but you can put the larger servo in your trans. You can build the trans up with the same parts you use in a GN trans for a build. It will handle 400hp easily with the right parts. :)

i seen on here something about billet internals you can get that are much stronger, i called a local trans shop to ask about a rebuild, tried to get me to buy a turbo350, but i need overdrive, he stated that he could but its been a while and dosent know how long it will last, so my guess is to do research buy all the stronger internals and give it to him to build, or try myself

The only hard parts I would change the larger intermediate servo like the one superior makes and a billet forward drum assy. Talk to Bruce at PTS or Chris at CK Performance and they will fix you up. Stay away from builders who don't know the ins and outs of these transmissions.
