yep but it wont offer much protection to the rim if you rub a curb

215 is the cross sectional width in milimeters inside measure , with the tire close to 235 outside
8in rim is 192mm between the bead and about 225 mm measured outside beads.

i would chose a tire with the tread width (not sectional width) close to the rim size for maximum handling

yeah, I screwd up -Already ordered wheels and my tires (fronts) are 215/65s. I should have gone w/ a 7 in in the front. I have set of 225/50s that I could use but I thought they looked a little small in the wheel wells. I just want to make sure the 215s will fit and not blow off the wheel.

they arent going to blow off , i had 215-65/15s on my s10 pickup mounted on 15x8 rims (the 215-65/15 mounted on 15X7s was the stock tire for the s10 pickup with sport pkg ), just watch those curbs.

Thanks for the info ! I dont drive the car much anyway so I should be able to keep away from the curbs.
