Was going to put this in the other forum... but thought it might get a better response over here.....

I am in a tire delima.... need some hookage! I really want to go to 10" wheels and maybe a 275/60/15 MT Drag Radial... but common sense tells me that the 28" tire for my very mild combo is overkill.... see combo in sig.....

On a 12 sec... to maybe as quick as mid to low 11's..... what is the consensus..... 28" or 26"..... I hope there are some people here that have run both... and directly compared....

Other option is the 275/50/15 MT Drag radial... either on an 8" or a 10" wheel. I would rather it on the 10" wheel... cause at some point... I know I will need some 28x10.5 slicks....and really don't want to buy wheels twice.....

Any opinions?

You can run 10.5 wide slicks on 8" wide rims if you want but 10's are ok too.

PS: I have run 28.5 tall by 10.5" wide slicks on 7" rims before on another car and put down low 1.4's 60 fts. but I would not recommend this to you......

The specs. for a tire will usually give a rim width range that the tire will work on, but there are rules of thumb.

I think 28's will only help if the car is 12.0 and quicker. The more the car is into the 11's (more powerful) the more 28's will help, IMO.
