2nd gear got soft

the other day I noticed that the shift to second from first when I stomp on it has gotten softer,When I drive normal it hits like usual but when I launch it at the stop light ,when it shifts to second it kinda slides in to 2nd instead of hitting second.Cable is adjuted to the factory setting.Everything else seems normal,Fluid level ,color, smell seems normal,no crud in the juice.What do you think next step should be?

What kinda pan/pick-up setup are you using?

Band anchor hole, band anchor pin, or pin shot through edge of band apply anchor. Typical scenario.

stock,do you think the pick up fell off?I do not know a thing about auto trannys.

anything I can do to diagnose this at home?I tried adjusting the tv cable towards the firewall,didnt help.Fluid looks and smells fine but I have not dropped the pan yet.I have the day off so if some one can spin me around and send me in the right direction I will give it a shotIf I didnt know better I would never have noticed it since for any other normal car it feels to be shifting fine but not for a gn that normally kinda hits when getting to second.creeping along in traffic it will bump into second but wot sux

just for shiits and giggles, if you have a drain plug, you might want to try and an extra quart of fluid then test it to see if helps if it does then it is a sump prob, drain out the qt. and think about a deep setup, if it don't help then look into what bruce says.

check accumator spring in the 1/2 housing. sounds like it is broken.good luck .
