shift problems

Well...............
My problem is the opposite, 1-2 shift is to hard, (barks tires ,even at light throttle)
No idea who did trans, (bought car that way) previous owner said shift kit was installed, No doubt about that!
can I tone down the 1-2 shift? I can live with 2-3 & 3-4 ( firm, but liveable!)
Thanks in advance,
cruzn57

You could remove the 1-2 accumalator housing and see what has been modified. If it is shimmed or has a heavy spring. This is easy enough to do in the car.

hard shift

thanks, I'll take a look and see,
I do apppreicate the info!

A couple other things to check if it is really a problem and you want to drop the VB is see if the line bias spring was replaced with a blocker rod, accm valve spring too strong and intermediate servo cushion spring too strong and there is proably some holes in the seperator plate that are too large, new plate is only about $20 but unless you know your way around the VB or find out what kit was install your probaly gonna be hard pressed to pinpoint a remidy, unless you want to get Bruce's kit ($70) which I beieve he can and will taylor to your specific wants and needs and also be able to give support in installing it and help with identifing what parts may have been previously installed.
