3-4 shift?

A while back I installed a shift kit. Don't drive my car much so not many miles have been put on it since the install. After the install I've noticed my 3-4 shift won't happen until I hit around 60mph or so and only when I let off on the gas. If I keep on the throttle I've gone as high as 70 and no shift. When it does eventually shift into 4th it is with a swoosh sound and a slight jerk. Both the 2nd and 4th accumulator pistons received new seals at the time of install and it was noted that both these pistons fit very tight in their bores. Could my 4th accumulator piston be sticking? I've fooled with the T.V. cable a little but to no avail. The rest of the shifts are perfect. Trans-go shift kit by the way. My other car has a PTS. Should have went with that one. Any help would be appreciated.

a sticking 3/4 piston wont delay the shift only make it firm.if you are lifting the gas this means there is too much tv pressure and you must loosen the cable.is it only the 3/4 shift that late or all of them?

Thanks for the reply Chris. It's only the 3-4 upshift. I've since taken the valvebody off so I'm going to give it all a good cleaning and reassemble. Any other thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks again!

the 3/4 valve gets stuck easily.remove it clean it check it for moveement and give it a test run.good luck

Thanks again Chris for the reply. I've cleaned everything up but have one last question. How tight in the bore are the accumulator pistons supposed to be? Should I be able to spin them by hand or should they be tight where it might take a little more force? When I installed the kit I installed the supplied new o-ring seals on both the 1-2 and 3-4 accumulators and they took a little force to get in. Now to get them out to make sure all was clean it took removing the center post and carefullyworking it out through the now vacant center hole with a screwdriver. They were both in there pretty good. How tight should they be? Again, thanks so much.

ive never seen any aftermarket accumulator springs as of yet.whos were they?tight is okay as long as they dont stick.the wear is at the pin not in the bore so id install stockers and use a later 700 accumulator piston in the 3/4 acc bore /
