3'' Downpipe and Stock Intercoolers

I have a nice 3'' Downpipe for sale. This particular DP was used with a stock appearing turbo, but was not compatible for the 54 I just installed. Great cheap upgrade for someone's stock Turbo Regal.

cool, i really need a DP and am the typical broke a$$ college kid so this sounds like it would be good for me, will this fit on any other turbo than stock or just not on the one you got?

The 54 I bought has a totally different exhaust housing, so the DP wouldn't line up properly. I had to buy an ATR DP. I think it depends on the housing and/or elbow that is on your turbo...

Is your turbo stock?....If not, let me know what you have....maybe I can keep you from buying something that you wouldn't be able to use.

well right now i have the stock turbo, but someday i would like to upgrade to a 61 series, or even a 70. If the DP could be modified to fit then it wouldnt be a problem, but dont know if that would be possible or not, there is still alot i am learning about these things.

I know what you mean when you say you want to upgrade "someday" to this or that.....

But I learned a long time ago that you can't plan on that when you are buying parts. Mainly because everything has to co-mingle and be compatible. So, in essence, if you buy things for future upgrades, then you will have new parts sitting on a shelf waiting for their mate so the right combination will work.

If you go to a 61 or even larger, then you will need an ATR DP or a Terry Houston DP (same thing).

I had considered the 61, but for the street the 54 is MUCH better. It spools quicker and to be honest, with the right set-up, a TR will run the same times at the track with either turbo.

I could go on and on......let me know sometime about what you want your Buick to run.....then I can give you advice on what combination you need......remember those bigger turbos take big, bad convertors, injectors, etc.

The money can add up quick......but that's what's so fun about it....(I think)......lol

Anyway, you have a stock turbo, so this downpipe is perfect.....
