3 inch downpipe & hooking up fuel gauge

What do you need to hook an upgraded 3 inch downpipe?
Bigger exhaust housing?
Also what is the best way to Hook up a fuel pressure gauge?

If you need a 3"DP I have a brand new Lee Thompson 3 piece and it does take a external waste gate $300, I paid $375 plus s/h and I have a good set of green stripe injectors for $85. Let me know if I can help. Tony

You can hook up your fuel pressure gauge on the shrator valve(spelling?) which is located on the driver's side of the fuel rail closest to the front of the car. What fuel pressure gauge do you have............will it work with the shrator valve or must you remove the valve?
What do you all have done to you car? Not to many 3in downpipes out there for our cars..........the lee thompson piece is nice.........personally I think a 3in is overkill on a street car, a nice 2.5in will get the job done

What psi are the green stripers rated at I forget?
3" inch is probably overkill, but I got a great deal that includes headers, 3"dp, and the Y. The fuel pressure gauge isn't the nicest one on the market, but it is a 2 5/8 100psi gauge made by Auto Gauge Performance meters.

As of now I have opened exhaust, with flomaster muffler, 4" cold air intake, upgraded fuel pump, (have, but needs to be put on this weekend) adj wastegate, adj fuel regulator, fuel and boost gauge, 93 chip, and for the near future the above mentioned DP etc.

ok ive been wantin to install that fuel pressure gauge so now that i know i gotta use that valve on the rail what exactly do i do to install it do i remove the cap and then what? or amd i off by alot on how to install this ? what else would i need besides the gauge to install this thanx

To install the fuel pressure gauge, uncrew the protective cap, then you will probably have to remove the schrader valve inside. It looks like a valve stem on a car tire. You can purchase the tool to remove the valve for very cheap at an auto parts, i believe it is the same exact size as a valve stem core for a car tire, i used a valve stem core removal tool. Then you basically screw on your fuel pressure gauge or adapter (if you have one with a section of line attached to it like a hood mounted gauge). Wouldn't hurt to put a bit of teflon tape on the threads. If it is a direct rail mounted gauge, the gauge may require an adapter, I am not positive on that, mine is a remote mounted gauge that came with an adapter which i just screwed on. HTH

thanx for that detailed info very helpful would it be ok to run the gauge to the inside of my car and install it on one of those 2 gauge A pillar holders?

You are going to want to use a gauge that has an insulated line(electric?) so that is can be ran inside the car without any worries. These are more expensive gauges but very nice.

Here is a gauge that can be ran in the cockpit, this one seems to be a little expensive..........I have seen them around $150 too. Still a lot for a gauge
