Just bought a '29 roadster with a '75 mustang ll 302. It makes no power. What can be done on the cheap to help it? Ported heads, cam? It will be getting a Buick nailhead as soon as I can afford one.

I'm pretty sure Horsepower just did a special on a budget build up of that motor. Look it up on there website.. I am not sure what URL it is, but i think its powerblocktv.com

Dude just put some Flowmasters on it like all the Mustangs used to do when they came with the infamous 302. They call them 5.0's even though they are only 4.948893's. Everyone knows that it takes 305.1187 cubic inches to have 5.0 liters.

Any engine info? Casting numbers intake carb headers?

All they have done to it is a four barrel and intake. It only makes 140hp stock. Should just leave it alone and put the $ toward a nailhead.

I agree with above posters, mid-seventies 302's were most deffinately NOT the same as later 5.0's, just as well, I would side with turbo nasty and look into finding a locally available '93-98 Lincoln Mark VIII and grab the powertrain, refurbish as necessary and serve into your highboy, 4.6 DOHC engine is a pretty nice piece from the looks and power departments, good luck.

Kevin.
