3800 type II coil pack set up. MSD #s ect.

I have been trying to find info on this but the gntt site is not working. I would like to upgrade to the MSD coils and might as well change out my old one since I can't use it.

So which cars did they come on?

What is the part # for the msd coils for the type 2 set up?

The dealer wants $291 and $190 for each coil

If you guys can help me out that would be great.

Just to clarify, you are looking for coil packs for the 3800 Series II? It came on some 95 models, but mostly 96-04.

You can get a good set of low mileage coil packs from Ed Morad (www.moradpartscompany.com).

MSD coils don't have a reputation for being anything other than red for these engines honestly. I believe they are cheaper then the Delphi replacements but I also think that people have had issues with shorter lifespans on them aswell.

Volvo man,
I have a used complete set up. PM if you are interested. It was on my GN when I purchased it many, many years ago. Its fully operational just sitting on the shelf. :wink:

I just ended up getting new Accel coil pack from summit. It was going to be to much and it was hit and miss with some people. Thanks for the replys going stock still.
