3rd and 4th gear light stays on DS?

My 3rd and 4th gear light stays on all the time on Direct scan. What causes this? What's that effecting by staying on all the time?

You either have faulty wiring in the trans, or from the plug connector to the ECM, or faulty pressure switches in the trans.

Mine was the faulty pressure switch in the trans. I tested by unpluging from the trans and using a jumper wire to ground the pins. I could do this and get the 3rd and 4th gear lights to go out, so I concluded that the wiring was good. It was the switch.
