4.1 3.8 parts swap?

What all will swap to the 4.1 block as far as heads, crank, ? Was reading the other posts and couldn't find for sure. Thanks Guys Daniel

Everything except the pistons and stock front cover. The 14bolt oilpan from the older 3.8 blocks work for the 4.1 as well.

Actually the front cover will move over as well. You either need to drill and tap some new holes in the cover, or ever so slightly elongate the two holes in the front of the oil pump.

Yeah and I take back what I said about the pistons too. You can melt them down and recast them to fit the 4.1's bore.:biggrin: :biggrin: :biggrin:

so the crank and rods are the same in both? Heads will swap right over? Basically you are just getting a bigger bore? Thanks Daniel
