4.1 bore ?

What is the biggest bore you can get out of a 153 block? Is 4.004 max?

You need to get it sonic checked to know for sure. I have one that is 4.040 now, but is good to over 4.100.

Well, I pulled a motor down that was supposed to be 4.010 and it is 4.040 and I am not happy about it

It depends, I have seen 4.060 off center running without any issues. Like someone said you have to sonic test the block. The 153 being a stronger block than an off center block, you will be fine at 4.040 but still sonic test it any way for peace of mind.
