4.1 Good or Bad--Help Me

I just tore apart one of my TR and found spun Bearings & busted Block.Are 4.1 any good or should I use the 3.8 I have In another TR I own?????? HELP

I am building one. I am using custom forged pistons. Steel center caps and a block girdle. I think that it would be stronger then a stock 3.8 block if done right.

Someone will correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't the "weak points" of the 4.1 the same for a 3.8 of the same vinatge? (In other words, a '84 4.1 is the same as a '84 3.8)

And those "weak points" only become in issue for a fast-fast car (10's). If you'll never get to the 10's, the extra displacement would sure help.

Thanks alot guys,this realy gives me alot to consider.I think this wknd I,LL go out to & do some looking.Out here in Rural AZ we have large selection of 84/85 cars In the junkyards,Hell I only paid $300 for this 84 TR,and Its totaly comlete & straight,might find another,who knows?????
