4 pin conection on side of Tranny!!!

My 84 T-Type has a connection (4 pins - square) on the side of the transmission / driver side. The conection is disconected. I pluged it back and the car drove bad, I did not like it so I disconected it again. I like it better like that.

I know that is there for a reason but I don't know exactly why. Will I hurt anything with this being disconected ?

It stumbled a little / jerked when I'll be slowing down 2nd to 1st. Also, when I would take off from a light at normal speed, as soon as it shifted into second, with a little gas the boost will go to like 4 ~ 6 and I know that I'm not on the gas pedal requesting boost build up.

The connector is for the TCC switch, which locks/unlocks the torque convertor. Not hard to replace.
