This probably has been addressed before, but I would not know where to find it. My project is approaching the point where I will need a transmission :D . I hope to run 800-850 HP. Very minimal street miles. No more than 100 miles a year. Ford brg ends, spool, 33 spline axles, Metco upper & lowers, wolf industries style anti roll bar and 33 spline axles. Car is trailer queen - basically race & show and is still stock appearing- hehe , yeah right!. Which would you run and why? Thanks Larry:confused:

a th400 will be what will get the car down the track faster.the starting line ratio which is the mechanical leverage introduced against the vehicle weight by the engine ,torque convertor, transmission planetary gear ratio and final drive ratio needed for a 3600lb plus car with 800 to 850 horsepower can correctly be calculated and executed using a stock ratio(2.48/1.48)th400 and properly selected torque convertor and final drive ratio.a powerglide would call for shaving off 700lbs off the car before it could even be remotely considered a wise set of levers to accellerate the vehicle in question with the utmost efficiency.

Chris, I am from the Buffalo area - 7.5 hours from you. I may be traveling to the Binghamton NY area next week. If your going to be around, I may drive the additional 3.5 hours to meet you. That would be next Wednesday. When would you be there and what time? Larry

im always in and will wait around later if it is necessary.mon thru sat 8 to 6 .give a call if your coming down and ill get you some directions.

Larry, check around and see what Chris Chow has to say about his 400. He is running some outragious power and has done well with his 400 with no durability problems at all.
