im switching to a 400 trans and was wondering what the cost of some parts are.

400 Yoke?
BOP plate; What is this anyways?
Have drive shaft cut and balanced if need be?
Trans mount?
Dip sticK?

For the yoke do i needa short yoke or std yoke. i was looking on ebay and wasnt sure which one was the right one?

Dont need BOP plate, just get a BOP housing TH400. 100$ @ junkyard + $xxx for rebuild...depends on who you know and how much you get done to it. Bare minimum is clutch/steels, sprague, drum mods, tranny brake :) ... again, depends...

Yoke... goto junkyard/D.S. shop... the truck one is much larger/longer - you dont want/need that one... You will also need the proper tail housing for whatever you choose to use on the DS end - the short tailhousing is what you need. Be real careful with the yokes and ends for the 400's... there's some wacky stuff out there I found.

Driveshaft... $300-400 for 3.5" Aluminum or high-grade steel (nice DS probably needed if you're doing all the hassle to put a 400 in there anyways). $100 for stock one cut/rebalance...although a stock DS will break with an even mild 11/10s car - if you wanna transbrake it, forget the stock DS.

Tranny mount... use same one as 2004r just oblong holes and weld support in the ends as "ears" (optional).

Dipstick... $10 junkyard or get a nice $60 Lokar that doesn't leak... (my stock tube leaked so I got a nice double oringed Lokar knockoff).

Where can i find a good deal on a ultra bell housing or BOP adaptor plate. Im buying a 400 already built so buying a BOP housing is out of the question, and where can i buy a good DS from as well. Any suggestions on a converter, i was thinking precision.

Idk where the adapters can be sourced from, but again, a BOP housing entire tranny from the yard is only ~100 bucks... probably cheaper than the adapter plate, not to mention ease of installation and not worrying about fitments anywhere. The adapter plate will also add its thickness to the transmission end, probalby requiring more than just oblonging out some holes.

I am running a 3600-ish stall pro-torque converter. Very reasonably priced and a good track record. Can be had for 400's for 1K... can be cheaper if you go sprague and non hardened, etc...

BMR fabrication, Denny's, Dynotech, ... all make driveshafts
