I am just curious because, I dont know if I have a stock 233 regulator. Where is it and how do I tell what I have. One of the sites said 34-40 psi with this regulator. Also they said the setting for T/TA is, I dont know if they mean Turbo Trans Am but they also said T/TA 237 regulator at 37-43 psi.
I am trying to get my car running optimal for this dyno run. My scanmaster codes are. Just turning the car on and letting it idle.

Richard:
I have a stock TTA (Turbo Trans Am) fpr if you would like to borrow it, you are welcome to it, if you want to come and pick it up. I have never used it, but I believe it to be good. I think that they were about 42. Probably would be better to have an adjustable 1, money not withstanding. Local pick-up at DD only.

You are the coolest

Thank you but I have an adjustable and that is why you are the coolest, and I turned my fuel down to 37 static line off and MAL went away after resetting ECM. I really think I was running way too rich. I was wondering why my car always smelt like fuel on my shirt, thought it was the exhaust leak. Could have been a combination of both. Still wondering is that the max I can set my static line off to. May 13th I'll be there, even if I have to work. I just changed to the 2nd shift and I can come in as late as 6pm if need be that saturday.

Oops, my bad, I thought that you wanted to use a TTA fpr. Don't know where I got that idea, other than not paying attention to what I read. You don't want to miss all of the fun. In the event that we run out of time, the Dyno Store has advised that they will honor the quoted price for 2 weeks, course that would be no fun having to drive back up from SD. We will make sure that you have an opportunity to dyno. 3 weeks away. Can't wait. What time are you coming up? Supposed to be donuts in the AM.

Wow you are running way way rich.

Do you have the 233 or 237 on right now?

The 237 will give you more fp. But you have another issue to deal with because you have pegged the Bl's rich...

I have an adjustable

I am not sure if it is 233 237 . Since turning down my fp to 37 line off, the car runs much nicer now. BL's @ 90 still in Idle untill I start to drive then it will get up to about 115 which I still think is too low for min BL. That is why I needed to know should it be set lower. I have a Drag chip that says I believe 108 on it and I am running 91 and a quart of 108 from Pep Boys. Last night got 14 for knock, with just a boost for about 2-3 seconds @ WOT. I know six is max, what other things can I look into, or do I need to just run 116 with that chip.

the regulator should say on it if its a 233 or 237. So how are you adjsuting fuel to 37 static with a NON adjustable regualtor???? Blms are way rich, two much timing in the 108 chip with 91 octane, that octane 104 boost crap is not true 104 octane... worthless.

he has a adj fpr,I know cause I gave it to him..but what should the blms be at while driving? is what im curious about....

128 +or - a little bit at an idle and at cruise on the freeway on flat ground. BTW, Please don't run a race chip on pump gas unless you want to learn first hand how to fix blown headgaskets or worse.

Richard:
Keep in mind that when an octane booster says that it raises your octane 10 points or so, a point is 1/10 of an octane, not 1 octane increase, so a can of that crap might raise your octane up 1 octane, not 10. As Neal says, that stuff and I do mean all of it is junk, leaves particles on your plugs, plugs up your cat and makes your No2 sensor virtually worthless. Drain your tank to as little as possible, go get some real 100 unleaded race gas, and your KR will probably go away alltogether. Watch out for the "race gas addiction", though. HTH

Yeah its addictive

Haven't tried anything Higher, but after we came from Huntington beach we all got some 100 and Schwweeeew. That stuff is addicting. Led Zepac, I really dont know where Or maybe I thought the adjustables were 233 or 237 but sorry for the confusion, I have an adjustable.
Is it just the fuel that seems too high or is there anything else that might be out of wack. Or is the fuel being still to rich, making other things go off of min or max specs. Still never got where the 42.5 should be set at or shoud I just make sure my BL are within the range stated above and then there we go.

Yeah, I just need to find where I can get some real stuff.

Some 108 or Better around San Diego.

It depends what area of SD you're in. Most of the motorcycle shops and dune buggy places carry high octane gas. Out in Santee you can go to Fibertech for all VP race fuels. If you're in the north county you can go to VW Paradise in San Marcos for race gas too. I warn you the stuff ain't cheap but it beats busted parts.

Got the fuel, 116 Octane.Do you happen to know if this will be perfect for a 108 chip, and what is the max I should put as far as 91-116 (50-50), (60-40). Yeah and Neal your right it isnt cheap, but if its anything better than the 100, Lets just say I will be a 116 JUNKIE.

Lovin It.

I cant come down. That stuff really smells, I know it would smell since I have been to the track lots of times, but when Its in your ride, ew weee, I called Quad air and they said I should use 108 or better. My BL is still @90 at idle but will move up. I need to adjust some other setting.

The C-16 will work well with the 108 chip. As far as racing goes more octane the better. If you're going to run the gas straight I'd tell you to run at least 22psi boost. If you decide to blend it with our crappy pump gas I wouldn't go less that 50/50 and the boost level will be dependent on 02 voltage and knock retard. BTW, you will probably not get your BLM's to be right with a race chip so don't worry about it.

No Knock and alot of fun

I didnt know you could just run it straight. I will put the alky in soon, because that stuff is toooooo expensive. Love it, but Why pay more when you can run alky and more boost. Love the way the car pulls now. I did 50/50 so it ran nice and like a whole new car.

Sort of woke that sleeping giant killer up, huh?
I'm addicted already, and I have only run about a tankful through the car.
It's only money, and as long as you die before you run out of it, it's kool, right. It's when you run out of moeny before you die that is a problem. I think that I might try a tankful of Sunoco 104 unleaded soon. Anybody tried this? Cosby Oil in Santa Fe Springs has it for about $ 6+ change, and when you get the discount card, it will reduce the cost to about $ 6 flat. I paying $ 5.79 for 100 V.P. unleaded right now. I have a boost gage in it now, but I am afraid to put the spurs to it and look at the boost gage at the same time. Afraid of seeing something that I don't want to see, I guess. It's time is coming up very shortly, I think.

You won't be able to run more boost on alchy and pump gas than C-16 but the alchy will definately be more cost effective. Be careful and have your base tune up squared away prior to introducing another variable with the alchy injection.
