Who are you guys using for converter for your 4L80 Swaps? I have had good luck with Circle D in the past on my LS stuff. I know PTC is preferred on here any pro or cons? Circle D Vs PTC for a L/U converter?

I have a much milder setup than you, have been fighting other problems, and have yet to really put down a solid number yet. This information is probably basically useless to you because of all that, but I think my Circle D has been doing a fine job so far. It's a 245mm pro series triple disc, 3c stall. On a stock bottom end with home ported irons and a 212 flat tappet, it stalls 2700 at 0 psi, 3400 at 8-9 psi before my vacuum brakes give up, and drops from 5700 back to between 5000-5100 on both shifts, according to my pl files, at whatever power it takes to trap 119-120 in a full weight car with a full weight driver. I ran a string of mid 11's a few months ago, with mediocre 1.7 60' times due to a crack in a header collector opening up on me. Locking at around 900 feet each time.

Thanks! I’ve been happy with PTC in the pass. It’s been a little bit of a pain getting everything to complete the swap this time of year.

I definitely understand that. This season didn't pan out how I'd hoped, but that's just how it goes. I'd like to see some 10 second slips, and I think I'm onto it now. I needed a taller tire also, so I had to lock it to avoid just plain running out of rpm. I think it will et well unlocked, but I'll have to try it both ways to compare directly. The rpm numbers seem to be in line with what is recommended for a setup like mine. I had it as a '4c' at first, I could get around 3600 out of it then. It was a little loose for this car. Their 1 free re-stall window went from a year to 6 months during the first year I owned it, and I didn't know until I went to send it back. Not a major deal, but something of note with my experience nonetheless.

I went with a Circle D converter Single Disc Lockup 245 with mods to remove mass. 3400 Stall. Transmission almost finished here are a few pics. I’m sure it’s more stuff I'm probably forgetting. Mag-HYTECH Deep Pan. Just wanted to share my build with you guys.
