I need to mount a pair of inline pumps side by side on alum plate under car . Is 3/16" 5052 grade alum plate good for this type of application ? Pumps weigh in at around 13lbs for the pair . Thanks .

It depends on the design of the plate, but yes one could be made from 3/16" 5052 and be plenty strong. But if your buying new material, buy 6061. 5052 is a little scammer to machine, drill, cut etc, 6061 is has better machinability.

will do thanks ! it'll just be a flate plate with pumps mounted and rubber 1/4 x 20 bolt 1/2" round rubber isolators in all 4 corners between plate and trunk pan metal .

If you're not forming it, use 6061. If you don't have anywhere local to get it, give me a call. I have a bit :D
