I ask PT the same questions and they said it would not help. I used an old 0.82 exhaust housing on a stock turbo, but ended up with boost dropping above @4200 rpm because the turbo was not producing sufficient torque to turn the compressor above 23 psig (I'm pushing the limit of this setup).
I did not understand at first what was happening so I did two things: (1) Talked to John Craig, and (2) simulated my setup on Performance Trends Engine Analyzer Pro. Both identified my problem as using the higher exhaust A/R.
I wish I had a PTE 0.63 to test the difference. With the stock G 0.63 exhaust housing the backpressure will get out of site at 22 to 23 psig with my setup.
Not sure about what your goals are, but for the added $150 I am not sure if you will see any improvement unless you are pushing the limit of the stock compressor.
Just my experience. There are many others with a lot more experience in this area.
