This is really pretty incredible, they just upped the power by 100 hp + 90 lb's of torque, over this yr's model
along with a bunch of other upgrades.Making this the highest hp rating of any regular production v8 in the world.
I wonder if chevy will now up the power level on their zl1 that is coming out in 2013 + rated at 580 hp.
I'm sure they will be beefing up the zr1 which did have the highest hp rating up until this comes out.
If this thing comes out in the $60-65k range that will be incredible,it'll be about $50k cheaper then a zr1.
I hope they sell a bunch of them so they are available reasonably cheap in a few yrs.
Gotta love these horsepower wars.
A 10 second,200+ mph Mustang off the showroom floor.

The current zr1 will still own that thing at the track!

I'm not really a mustang fanboy but im not so sure...i have seen many more gt500s running faster times than zr1s at the track....this maybe driver related but it is truth

What is the cost to own one of those:confused:Sure are nice,

Havn't seen any pricing yet,but i wouldn't think too much more then the 2012's
On e-bay the 2012's are going between $46k+58k
so i'm thinking maybe $50-$62k depending on options ?
I was just coming home + as i turned up my street a really nice white with blue one drove by me ,i don't know what yr but man it sounded nice.

Man, i owned a 03 terminator and have been drooling over a GT500 for years.

Come on lottery!

Nice!
Hope it's not a clunky rattle trap, like the 08 one I drove. From what I hear, the fit and finish has gotten better in the last few years.

I'd rather pick up a nice used 2011/2012 5.0 and throw on a Hellion turbo kit. Throw on one of Razor's alky kits and have some money left over.

2011 5.0 Mustang Turbo System - 500 - 950+ hp capable

Turbo's work great for smaller ci motors but I'd much rather have a twin screw blower on that engine. Namelly the tvs blower from vmptuning.com, Shows his wife running 9's with this blower and stock auto transmission. Thats just sick!

Correction...That was with a Roush blower. Still amazing to trap 140mph though.

Even the supercharged 02 gt with 100k miles I just sold wasn't a clunky rattle trap,it was very tight,awesome driver,I couldn't imagine a 2013 gt500 being that way.
I'm just glad our tr's arn't clunky rattle traps.;)

Just came across this, a few more 2013 cars.
I'm not a big fan of the new camaro's but that zl1 vert sure looks nice.

This car is amazing, it is a great time to have money and be a car fan.

650 hp, 600 ft lb, 200+ mph, 5 year 60k mile warranty, no gas guzzler tax, 2013 GT500:
I don't think that you will be seeing any of these for sale @ 60K - 65K bracket anytime in the near future.
Do you think that there might be a dealer mark-up?

the markup will probably be in the area of 100%.. unless, of course, Ford puts the hammer down on dealers that try to mark them up like that- but Ford can't control what a private seller does for a markup, so if Ford doesn't allow a markup then watch out for the lucky buyers that look to double their money on them. of course, Ford could do like Ferrari has done with some of their cars and make the buyers sign a contract saying that they can't sell it for a year or something silly like that..

I would bet that there will be a hefty dealer mark-up. I don't think that anybody is going to drive one of those out the dealer's door for anywhere close to $ 65K.

I doubt there will be any 100% mark ups, maybe 10k or so like the z06's.
There is already 6 yrs of GT 500's out there,it's not like this is a brand new model coming out,It's just an upgrade,An awesome one for sure, + i 'm sure there will be big demand for them, but most owners will make due with there 550hp cars (which are probably modded to 650 or more already anyway)until the initial frenzy blows over.
It also depends on how fast ford can pump them out,if they trickle out, + each dealer only gets an alotted few, then people will pay more.
1 or 2 of the posts said that some buyers have already made deals with there dealerships to purchase at list price.

I actually just looked at all the cars for the 1st time + like the new front + rear end of the new stangs (i never liked the rear remake on the 2010-2012)+ that new hood looks awesome with functional air extractors.LIke that new Blue color too.
Also check out the jaguars,"push to pass" option which gives you 10 seconds worth of boost from an electric motor, adding 90hp + 173ft lbs of torque.

Dragstrip or nurburgring? Dragstrip they both will get owned by the sinister 6 cars lol

I have to respectfully disagree.
No production Buick on factory tires and 91 octane will touch either of these cars at the drag strip, top end or road course.
