My gt6776bb turbo is arriving UPS today.:)

I ordered an "oil kit" from Fullthrottle because they told mw I am not using my factory oil feed line anymore. What type of setup is this for the bb turbo and how hard is it to install?

Just trying to get ready for my install tonight....

The PTE based gt6776bb turbo should have a nice pretty oil feed fitting pre-installed. It is threaded to accept a -4 An feed line. You have to run this fitting because of it being a restrictor fitting.

If you ordered the oil filtration kit from FT, it will include a new braided -4 An line that will attach to this nice pretty silver aluminum restrictor fitting. Don't over tighten as that fitting is made of soft aluminum and can break off. Don't forget your water coolant lines and use the new oil return gasket with a little bit of silicone. If you also ordered the water coolant line kit thats made by PTE, be careful when tightening up the banjo fittings, as there is only a small bead of solder on the tube to the round fitting. Any excess movement of this tube can cause the solder to break and it will leak like a siv. Just make sure that the round part of the water tube doesn't move when you tighten the red banjo bolt. Washer goes on both sides of the round water tube fitting. Also, you might have to re-clock the compressor cover to properly align with your IC plumbing. Just loosen the backing plate bolts enough so you can rotate the cover. Now hand tighten the bolts in a criss cross fashion.
Don't worry, it's a piece of cake, and you're gonna love that turbo.

Thanks Patrick.

So basically I will be chunking my hard oil feed line and using a braided line supplied from FT from turbo oil port to my block where old feed line was screwed in?

Depends on what oil setup you bought.
They sell a replacement hard line that connects to the factory brass block in the front of the motor. If this is the line that you bought, you won't be able to re-install your turbo heat shield without modifying it to clear that oil feed line. Here is a pic. BTDT

You would have to notch your heat shield to clear this line.
If you purchased the oil filter relocation kit (Some people call it the oil filtration kit or turbo saver) it will come with a new braided SS feed line that comes off the filter adapter and has a plug that plugs off the port in the brass fitting.

Thanks..Ill let u know how the turbo works on my setup. Going form a TA-60 so it should be a good kick in the butt:D

Looks like we are on the same path. I'm going from a TE-60R to a 6776S non ball bearing myself this weekend.

You should have used a jedi mind trick and got that ball bearing turbo for a cheap price instead of the regular journal turbo.:D

Holy cow!!! UPS just dropped my 6776bb turbo off. I hope there are no small animals or children that get in the way when this thing spools up!

Its freaking huge.

it aint gunna get done with u lying on the living room floor....Ur ride aint much faster than mine right now.... At least my car is lighter....today..... LOL....

TURBO 6,
You mean the one of the turbo sitting on the floor that was posted on another post? ;)

Sounds like you guys are having way too much fun. Looks like rain all weekend for me, well maybe a break on Sunday. Keep up the good work down there guys.

Didnt know I was getting a 4" inlet on that turbo. Went to pulmbing store and bought a rubber coupler for PVC 4" to 3". Is this gonna work okay for me?

Didnt want to spend anymore $$ on a 4" MAF pipe.:frown:

You mean you purchased a Fernco boot coupler? Technically, it should work ok, Not the most elegant thing in the world, but functional. Shouldn't be a problem as it's not pressurized like your plumbing after the turbo. Never run Fernco style hoses after the turbo as they won't hold up.

Patrick

Yes fernco.

You mean I cant use duct tape from the turbo to IC???:D
