You would think if someone was tring to sell a car that nice and that rare, he could afford to take better pics. Still from what I can tell, it is a very nice car.

I wonder what the reserve is on that over priced piece of crap.
It's currently over $149,000 and the reserve has not been met. Unbelievable.

I guess I have always wondered why these particular cars bring so much money, when a '70 Buick GS 455 stage 1 gets absolutely no respect. I'd say the Buick is a better car with just as strong of a motor. It's all about mystique and hype. A stage 1 in the exact same condition MIGHT bring $30 grand.....

The reason it's going to bring more money than the equivalent GS? Simple. It's a Chevy. More people own 'em now. More people owned 'em then. More magazines cover 'em now. More magazines covered 'em them. And so on.

I'm sure The Ritz had better food, but more people remember "that great little diner down the street", don't they?

......yeah, I know all that stuff..........but being a Buick lover, it just pisses me off!

Thanks for letting me vent!

ARGH! What's it doing parked in the grass!?!?

You're gonna get dirt in those 34 year old tire treads.

Sweet car. I'm kinda surprised that it still moves under it's own power.

I remember overhearing a discussion at a car show in which an owner was talking about his frame-off resto LS-6/M-22. An observer asked him how well the car ran and the owner replied...."Runs? I can't remember the last time I started it."

It turns out the car was always winched on and off of an enclosed trailer for each show and pushed into position.:p

Just my .02, but that is notmy idea of ENJOYING a car. I know there are lots of people that love NOT driving their cool cars, but I like driving mine!

.....on the other hand, my car will never be worth $150,000 either, because of that!:D Different strokes!

We sold most of our Muscle Cars because we never drove them either. We took one car to 50+ car shows and put 6 miles on it in 16 years.

When you do start to drive them, after the fun wear's off, they aren't fun to drive. Sure the slam in the back is fun for a while, but you have to take corners like you are driving a 20 year old pickup and plan your braking 1/4 mile in advance.

I'd like to hear the story on why it only has 26 miles on it. That makes zero sense. The car looks like it may have been ordered to be a drag car, but was then NEVER raced or modified (even a little) to be raced?

That price is crazy! I will never understand the people that dump major coin into something like this car and won't go out and enjoy driving it. I guess thats the difference between people like us who work hard on their cars to make themselves happy and a person who can drop that kind of money for something to look at. Its MADNESS!:D

we are thinkin alike.. Ill bet the car was a race car since day one and speedo was disconnected.. Restored back to original and speed reconnected. Seen it many times..

That is why I sold my '70 GS convertible. It was a cool car, but after I got the TTA, the big boat was not that much fun to drive anymore. The difference in the way the 2 cars drove was like day and night. I got hooked on the turbo car (of course) and unloaded the big block. I do miss the sound of 462 cubic inches at 4500 rpm however!

Pleasure comes in many forms, boys. Weenies take pleasure in winching their car on and off the trailer, and in knowing that it's worth 5% more than it was last year. IMO, might as well own a boxcar full of pork bellies. Same difference.

I am one of those weenies that takes pleasure in driving, not winching my car on/off the trailer.

150k, I'll take a exotic Italian/German car, not no POS old car that will be worth nothing when the baby boomers all die.

Think about the future, imagine some of the ricer cars and what they will be worth. LOL

Yeah, At 150,000+ I can't imagine thinking of it as an investment.

I was told by a very knowlegable 70 Chevelle SS owner that one way to tell a true SS is they all came with hood pins. He says lots of clones skip them because they don't want to drill a new SS hood for the pins. He says they also used a certain type of hood pin and an aftermarket one is a giveaway. Crappy pics but I don't see any hood pins....
http://www.carrollstauto.com/site/I...lle_ss_silver/71_chevy_chevelle_ss_silver.htm I have seen this one first hand and it's truely a survivor. Notice the hood pins. There is another 70 SS on that site that also has hood pins. For that kind of scratch I say buyer beware.

the feeding frenzy going on right now with muscle cars is going to end with the biggest fool (the last buyer) losing a boxcar load of money!

Those cars have no redeeming value and are pieces of crap to drive.....they aren't even "fast" (I owned a few brand new ones and destroyed them within a year or two....prolly why there aren't too many left:) )

remember the Ferrari buying spree in the late 80's?
