From what I was told, the car went back and with "better" heads and the GTQ turbo was dynoed again. It made 550 something on a day where the "conditions had changed, that's why it wasn't performing up to expectations with the additional parts." Expectation being 600rwhp range
From what Bobby has said, if that was the case then the "test" that was done wasn't really a test at all. I know of plenty of cars, full weight too, "3700lbs"that have run well into the 9's with a 72. Do the math, that is well over 500hp. Add a ported shroud housing and we are looking at another 20 plus HP.
I remember a number of years back when a Buick vendor claimed he only replaced a stock torque convertor on a customers car with a Precision Industries TC and the car picked up a full second at the track, 12.50 to an 11.50. What he failed to mention was the car had a T45a on it. DUH........ everyone ran out and bought PI convertors, before realizing they needed to put a turbo bigger than a stock one on.....
one more point, I heard of a GN owner that ran a 9.90 something on a stock block with a PT88, and of another that ran a 9.90 with a Turbonetics CPT70-P trim, does that mean the turbonetics 70 makes more power than a PT88?
