Does anyone know if it's possible to retain the knock sensor and ESC while using the MSD-6 Boost Timing Master? If they woun't work together and I have to choose one or the other for detonation control, which do you recommend?

Thanks,
Dave

Both should work together. I use both on my car, but it has an ECM. I have heard of others using the BTM on the non-ECM motors and nobody mentioned it being problem.

The wires going to the coil are disconnected and then connected the MSD box. The MSD box then plugs into where the original wires were. (It's hooked up in series.) Pretty simple installation. I didn't like or use the adapter harness they sell.

Yes,

Like Rich said use the white wire trigger on the MSD box and connect that to the original coil trigger wire. In other words the OEM system is trigger the MSD box instead firing the coil before the MSD was installed.

Please see attached web site from MSD. Please note I needed the Diode when I had my wire this way.

Fred,

Does that still allow the MSD to control the retard based on boost? I would like my primary detonation protection to come from the MSD BTM, and my secondary from the knock sensor.

Thanks,
Dave

Yes,

The knock sensor will work just like before. And the MSD will pull timing out has boost increases.
