what is needed besides, turbo, intake, and intercooler to convertan 84-85 to 86-87? does anyone know somebody with everything needed forsale? what will the power differnce be? is it worth the hassle? what could i do to make my 85 as fast as a stock 87? has anyone done a conversion like this?

your asking alot of ?'s here but here goes.....

a stock 86/7 GN only ran a mid 14 which could easily be reached w/ minimal mods(check gnttype.org recipes).

believe it or not there is a whole sh!t load of crap you need to convert to an 86/7 engine....it is not worth it unless you have a complete siezed engine to take parts from....otherwise just look for a complete engine w/ harness for sale....then its just a drop in and your set. If you want to go fast cheap then that is the engine to go with but the hotairs can be pretty quick but will cost a bit more $$ but still less than it would cost to make any TPI or 5.0 just as fast.....i myself have put alot of thought into this....i could easily convert engines for maybe $3000 max and probably be a solid low 12 sec car but i think I'm going to throw everything I got at this hotair motor and see how far it takes me but good luck with it whatever you choose man...later, steve

Only way to do it correctly is find a terminal i/c car and swap out one piece at a time. You will also need to swap or re-engineer fuel lines, a/c, radiator, not to mention the engine block itself. Evemn the battery cables are slightly different. Best bet is to go with a spearco add-on intercooler or similar.
