What is the difference between the 1984 wire harness and the 1987 wire harness? I have one in my car, and another sitting in the trunk, and I am not sure what they both are...My car (84 t-type) was an abortion project from another lost guy, and I am left with the clean-up, so here I sit with two wire harnesses, not knowing which is which?

84/5 harness will have the TPS and IAC connectors closer to the firewall and the ign mod connector up front with the MAF connector close to it...harness will run across the front of the motor...

86/7 harness will have the ign mod harness close to the firewall...the harness will run across the firewall from pass side to driver's side...harness will have a rectangular plastic sheath where it runs across the firewall...

Hope this helps a little bit...

edit...
one real big clue...The 84/5 harness will NOT have an IAT connector by the MAF...and the alt connector will have the old style flat 2 wire connector...The 86/7 alt connector is completely different...

The factory 87 harness has a plastic "L" shaped wiring channel, about 15 inches by 15 inches, that the harness runs through. The 85 style harness doesn't have the channel, but instead has all round conduit and breakout tee's. The 85 is actually a nicer design from a layout standpoint. There are numerous differences between the years.
