I'm new to the whole buick thing. I love old muscle cars, especially Pontiacs, but when I came across an 84 Riviera with a turbo in it I thought it was a joke. I really think this car is great. Just one problem, one fuel injector will not pulse. I have replaced the injector 3 times with new units and nothing. The noid light shows pulse. I have even compression across the board. New plugs and wires. I even swapped all of the injectors around. Any new injector I put in will not work anywhere. Any suggestions would be great!

1st, you don't need double post to find info. You need to check your injector harness. It sounds like you have an open in it. Use a digital multi meter set on dc voltage and back probe the harness or use it to check continuity of the harness.

Sorry about the multiple posts. Didn't realize it. I already checked the harness. It is fine. The problem is with the new injector. I can put it in any location, cyls 1-6, and it will not work. I have returned the injector 3 times and bought the next better model/different brand each time. None of them will work. The new injectors have all checked .5 ohms higher than the stock ones. I had Linder Technical Services test the new injector to see if it was working. It was fine. The old injectors work great in any position. I think I can hear a faint "tick" with a stethoscope on the new one but the cylinder still misses. I think it may be delivering a small amount of fuel at idle because it idles fairly smooth. The miss is worse when you accelerate. I can pull the plug off of the injector at an idle and notice a difference. Could I have the wrong injector from 3 different sources? It's driving me nuts!!

You've got the wrong injector if that's the case or you bought a rebuilt one. NEVER buy a "rebuilt" injector, you never know what you're getting and from the ohm readings you have the wrong one. Who'd you buy it from?

84 T-Type still drivin' me nuts

I bought (Now 4 Injectors) new. 3 from Speedway auto Parts and one from Advance Auto parts. 2 were Standard, 1 was Borg Warner, not sure of the other. I can't find a new AC Delco anywhere. The GM Dealership I spoke with said it is no longer available but they could order an alternative part number from an aftermarket source. Junk yards aren't a good option. From the info I have gathered '84 and '85 are the only years that will work. I just don't know where to find the right injector.

Go to the wanted section and do a post for injectors. Some one should have a set or at least 1. You might want to do some posting in the HA forum as well. There are also aftermarket injectors that have a higher injection rate that should work.

"NEVER buy a "rebuilt" injector, you never know what you're getting and from the ohm readings you have the wrong one."
1. A .5 ohm variation is not the problem.
2. Use of the word "rebuilt" is a misnomer.. Injs are cleaned, wear items replaced, and flow tested. That's it.

84Riv, what's the part # on 1 of the stockers?

The number on one of the original injectors is 0280150218, however, GM says the original number is 2173125 (AC Delco). Thanks for the suggestion to post a wanted ad. I hope something will come up soon.

I saw a set in the for sale section this morning but I don't remember who posted it. Hope that helps.

That pt #..

is a Bosch number, and is the SAME injector that's in the 86/87 intercooled cars.
Call Brian, at G-Body parts. He has a connection for cleaned/flow tested sets.
Buying a set that's not been cleaned/flowed, can put you in the same spot you are now in...
