Quick question..will an 87 GN long block work with a 1984 GN turbo,intake,etc. ?

I'm looking at an 84 with a disassembled motor, but otherwise complete.

yes

You will need to use the 87 thickness gasket (.060 ) to have the same compression as the 87 block has a shorter deck height.

Also the turbo oil drain is in a different location. I might have an extra 85 block hanging around. where abouts in CT are you.

I truly appreciate the offer.
I have found a 87 Grand National I'll be buying instead of playinng around with this 84 with the blown motor.

I'm located in Hamden

I'm going to take a wild guess just going by the West Haven location that your name is Dave.
And if so,you'll remember me as Chris, the guy with the red 70 Chevelle SS396 that used to live in Ansonia.

Hopefully,it is you so I don't sound like an idiot :D
