Just tried to get it out of winter storage. Charged the battery on a slow 2 amp charge for two weeks (green dot is there.) It cranked for about a second when I shut it back down and tried it again. Now it just makes a bunch of cracklin sounds and doesnt turn over. The contacts are secure and it has oil in it. I cut the a/c belt off hoping the a/c was locked up. Same result. Sound like a starter? I'm concerned the motor could be locked up. Its been sittimg since October and I'm getting nervous.

You cant trust the green dot on the battery. If you suspect its seized than put a socket on the crank bolt and see if you can turn it with a 1/2 drive ratchet or breaker bar. I'd try another battery before I would condem the starter. I've never have had to replace a starter with all of the Rivs I've owned over the years. Some of those had over 200K on the original starter.

Panic is now down to mild anxiety. Took the battery (2 or 3 year old AC/Delco) down to Autozone for a check. The computer said to charge and then recheck. They didn't know, but I think the battery is shot. I'm supposed to call back in a couple hours to find out. Do you think it would run hot with the a/c belt removed?

The battery was bad. Put new battery in, turned key and it fired right up! Thanks Turbofish.
