84 riviera turbo engine block questions

another project im into right now;
.....can i convert a 84 riv engine to an 87/86 intercooled setup? the oil pan off the 87 wont work...will a 84-85 tr oil pan work? the riv block is a "040" and the tr block (blown)is/was a 109.....
any other mis matches? ive noticed the timing cover differences between the riv and 87 tr also....
the riv short block is good...the gn block has to be rebuilt...im trying to build a driver on a budget and myself if possible....

the reason your having problems is the riv block is a 14 bolt.

you need early 14 bolt parts.

the 86/87 is a 20 bolt motor.

thanks aj....i scored a 14 bolt g-body oil pan from my local jy today.....everything elese is ready....im using the riv's timing cover....all else should bolt up...........
