Are my wires in the wrong place . HEEEEEEEELP , Please....
I'm doing a tune up this weekend and want to make sure everything is put back together right...

My 1 - 5 - 3 wires are going to the driver side spark plugs.

My 4 - 2 - 6 are going to the passenger side spark plugs.

How do I know if I have them correct. I drove like this this past weekend. The car does give me 32, 42, 44 codes that I'm hopefully going to take care off this weekend when I do a major tune up which includes brand new egr valve for code 32 & a new oxygen sensor for code 44.

PLEASE HELP!!!!!

plugs

I'm not sure if you have a plug prob. If your plugs were wrong, your car would run real rough. I once messed up a couple wires, the car sputterd, shot out some smoke, then wouldnt run at all, until I found the wires mixed. If your car reads those codes, check out the sensors like the O2 and stuff, make sure they are ok, and if they are reading that the car is messing up, then there may be a vaccume prob, or fuel prob. What mods if any?

Look at your coil pack, it may be imbossed-mine was. 1st thing-upgrade to the 86-87 coil pack, it is money in the bank!

I dont think it really matters which way youve got it wired between the two configurations you mentioned. One is the configuration embossed on the 84/85 coilpack and the other is what is on the 86/87 coilpack. Our system fires 2 cylinders (towers opossite from each other on the coil) at the same time.
