1) Is the mounting gasket for the 84 turbo round or square?
2) If it's round will it work on a 82 or is it to thin?

Are you thinking the one between the turbo leg and intake? If so the hot airs are set up different and don't use a gasket.

I found a foot gasket (gasket between the turbo and intake manifold) that is for a 84-88 231 T-regal. It looks like the foot gasket for a 79. It's round with 3 ears with holes in them for mounting bolts. I wondered what the foot gasket for the 84-88 looked like. The gasket comes with a couple of other gaskets. One looks like an EGR gasket. I thought I saw somewhere that the foot gasket for the 84-88 was kind of square. I need a 79 FG and hoped this one would work. If the hot air doesn't have a gasket maybe this one is miss labeled and will work:) All help is grateful.

We don't use one. The hot airs use an adapter utilizing o rings to seal.

The intercooled cars don't mount the turbo directly into the intake.

The ex inlet doesn't use a gasket on any year. The 84-85 has a steel plate with a sealing radius on one side that the inlet pipe seals against. Pre 84 has this portion cast into the ex housing inlet.

Thanks everyone. Be assured that when I post here I don't know what I'm talking about. I have no idea what 85% of the terms used in this forum mean. I think I better buy a mobile phone if for no other reason than pictures for show and tell!

Thanks again.
