ISO Info on 1980 3.8 cyl heads

This is what is on my lightly built 3.8 ... First number/letter. B,3 or 8? 2550590. Does anyone have any information on these cylinder heads, Valves, and Compression ratio? etc.

'78-'82 2 barrel heads, no coolant port bridge.

Pretty sure the casting numbers on cylinder heads in '78 started with "125" and then "126" in '79. Those heads are most likely 1980-'81. Intake valves were 1.71 and exhaust 1.50. Combustion chambers were roughly listed around 48cc. Compression ratio depends on pistons used.

I believe so. a more knowledgeable turbo guy told me his parts catalog came back with 1980. I don't know much about engine spec's of things. I forgot that depended on Pistons. I believe they are just Stock... but not sure. I'll have to use my borescope when i put my new R46TSX in.

too bad i just buttoned up the top end of the engine. I'm getting a nice 1980 4.1 engine from a Electra. I'd wonder how much better those heads flow...

The 1980 4.1 will probably have 25506293 heads. No better than what you have.
