84 want fire

will the crank sensor from a 87 work,i installed i cut 84 plug and put 87 on installed to block set no fire.

You mean you Cut the connetion and splice in the 87 sensor? Do you have any fire? what else is going on, check engine light on/blinking? Fuel PSI?
