I was hoping that I could get some opinions of the engine readings for my 1985 Grand National. I see plenty of specs for 86/87 but I think that it may be differant for a 85. My car is totally stock except for a K&N aif filter, flow master exhaust and hollowed out cat. It idles fine and runs on the road ok but I think think it should have more power. I took these reading with a OTC 4000E scanner. It seems that once I enter the data mode the idle goes up a little. I took these readings siting in my driveway after a 10 minute drive to warm it up.

O2 Voltage .38
O2 cross Counts 6
TPS .42
MAF 005
INT 128
BLM 150
LV8 028
IAC .38

Thanks in advance for your help and opinions

Hey Chris.

Be sure to put the scanner in "road mode", otherwise it puts the system in diagnostic mode. (I think you go; "F1" 2 times, 4, 9  )

BLM is too high, indicating any or all of the following:
- Vacuum leak
- FP too low (typical 38 unplugged on a stock system)
- Fuel pump weak
- Plogged fuel filter / pump inlet sock
- Low pump voltage / Bad ground(s)

Carefully look over ALL the hoses and intake after the MAF for vacuum leaks
Make SURE your fuel system is up to par before you do anything else.

Are you getting KR?
What are the O2's at full boost and how much boost are you running?

PS
Pretty much all the settings that apply to the 87's will work.
The secret to getting these things to run is in the chip/code/tune.
