85 turbo riviera on a regal?

i have someone offering to sell me a turbo from a 85 turbo riviera, he belives it will work on my 84 t-type. does anyone know for sure? thanks!!!

I have seen a HA riv at the junk, i think the turbo is different. I'm not 100% on that but take a look.

As far as bolt up, I would say no it wouldn't. If it's the same A/Rs which i think stock is .60(cold side/ exh .63 hotside. Then the hotair housings might swap over but In theory.

No, it won't work. The inducer housing is completely different. The part in the pics you see sticking up is the adaptor for the turbo but if I remember right there's some other minor differences.

So they are 84-85 Riv specific?

Can the inducer housing be rotated?.

I think the housing(comperssor/coldside) is different then that of the HA turbos. So, no i think it wouldn't work.

The biggest diference is the inducer wheel is smallrr and the that's about it. Been doing some reading lately.

Turbo's for Riviera and Regal different on both hot and cold sides,
Compressor wheel/housing cover= smaller inducer diameter
Exhaust wheel/housing= wheel diameter, housing is different scroll and A/R ratio (.82)

That is correct

THE CHRA WILL WORK ON EITHER TURBO, THE ONLY DIFFERENCE IS THE COMPRESSOR TRIM IS 55 on riviera and 60 trim on regal, the turbine housing is the only difference, the compressor housing are exactly the same, just different turbo adapters with the riviera using the U bend and the regal using the little short funnel.
IT WILL NOT BOLT UP TO A REGAL BECAUSE OF THE EXHAUST SIDE IS MODEL SPECFIC
THE TURBINE HOUSING ARE ALTOGETHER DIFFERENT, YOU could use The chra ON A REGAL, THE CHRA ( central housing rotating assembly) some catl this the CARTRIDGE, will get you out of a jam, THE THROTTLE BODIES ARE CLOSE BUT STILL DIFFERENT PART NUMBERS, one reason being the hot water line connectors may be pointing at a different angle.

IF you buy this turbo, I would buy the U bend and the exhuast turbine housing from you if you are willing to sell it.
