Do the 84-85's ECM's work on the same chip and cal-pak? What's all involved in switching over? Thanks in advance.

Do the 84-85's ECM's work on the same chip and cal-pak? What's all involved in switching over? Thanks in advance.

I believe cal pak is the only chip that interchanges to the 86/87 ecm.

The 84/85 calpak chip works in the 86/87 ECM. The main chip has to be replaced with an 86/87 Buick Turbo chip. Identical 86/87 ECM were used on various GM cars and the main chip will not work right. Take-care. Brad
