I'm curious being my GN has been completely stripped and all the parts stolen, save for the t-tops, trunk and rear quarters is the car even worth anything or should it just be junked.... TIA

Mike

Depends on the condition. A lot of these cars rust badly. Rear quarters are a prime candidate for corrosion. I'm from Wisconsin - I know about rust. If your GN body and frame are in good condition, you may be surprised at what it is worth. Before packing it off to the scrap yard, why don't you list it on the board. This may be just what another member needs to fix his/her aging GN. It may help someone out - and a scrap yard won't give you much of anything for it anyway. Just my opinion.

If its rust free or still has the 8.5" rear you could probably get something for it. Where are you located? I might be interested in it if its straight and rust free. Might save me alot of welding :)

Were they stolen or did you give them to them as payment for "Stripping" it out for a fiberglass /stage 2 setup, which was obviously never completed.. It's really sad to see that car like that, but having known what was going on, I think you should have taken it home while it was stll in the other shop. I seen it there for the longest time and it was all in one peice.

Didn't you come down before the car went to that shop and see what was going on, did nothing seem odd to you? I'm not trying to sound mean but at that time, it was pretty much kissing your car goodbye and you knew it.

Now that car is still in good shape, nothing has been maimed, but it would need seats, hood, engine, rear end, and wheels.

You could probably get it rebuilt for less than the cost of a new gn, Unless you're just trying to get rid of it and get a new gn anyhow.

Unfortunatly the car is in florida. And I was not paying to have it stripped actually the whole time the car was allegdly being worked on. I had no knowlege of Daves condition only his say so in what was being done to my car.... Also I'm not located in FL nor do I have access to come down there often so I was not aware all my parts/ stage 2 stuff was being sold from under my nose, as well as other people knowing the car belonged to someone in NY and did nothing to try and notify me. Thanks

Mike

P.S. The car what is left of it is in good shape, little to no rust, but it has no rear-end/ front end.

Was it insured?

Call Cal Hartline in Melbourne, FL and see if he wants it.

The insurance was taken off after it had been down there for a few months. That was one of my mistakes the other one was being a trusting person.
