1. Where can I find a diagram (or advice) regarding the mounting bolts that determine body panel allignment? The hood and front cowl (?) aren't right, and I'm not sure which bolts to play around with. Is the radiator mount in there someplace? Want to do this first before I begin painting.
2. What is the "lump" on the roof between the back of the driver's door and the rear quarter window. Looks like it could be rust, but it's been there a long time and hasn't rusted through yet. Caused by torque? How to fix it so it won't come back?
3. There's an indentation on the side of the roof right above the drip rail towards the A pillar on the driver's side. How do I fix that so it will not only stay fixed, but won't re-appear?
4. I think the front cowl piece (?) came off of a Regal other than a GN. 3 Holes have started to show up that might have been mounting areas for a hood ornament. What's the best way to fix (plug) them?
I haven't typed that much in a long time. :)
Thanks for your help.

Are you able to post any pics? Would make it a little easier to identify your problems. If they are stress cracks, adding all of the body and frame braces would most likely end your problems.

I would have to look in my chassis manual to see which bolts to adjust but I would say get the fenders and header panel first and then align the hood. I would guess the bolts at the core support, the rear of the fender under the hood, the other bolt at the rear of the render, inside the door jam (open the door and look at the back of the fender at the top) and the bolt(s) at the bottom.

The header panel is most likely from a regular Regal. I would call a few bodyshops and see what they say. :)

1. Just go ahead and loosen bolts you think will help in adjustment. You'll find your way. You can't hurt anything.

2. Sounds like where the roof is joined together with the body. This is just solder. You can grind it flat and fill it to make it perfect.

3. All you can do is pull the dent and fill it. If the body is kinked, you need to have it checked on a frame machine.

4. You can use any body filler you want. They will show slightly through the paint at some point in time. Don't worry about it.

We had number 2 and what we did was grind out the old solder and smooth with body filler, then inside the car welded the roof to the body to reinforce for the future. It sounds harder then it turned out to be. Just time consuming.
