87 GN muffler and tail pipes

What would you recommend as replacement muffler or mufflers and tail pipes? I have a slightly modified motor. Is the Pypes system the way to go or have a local muffler shop do the work?

i would get the kit mark TR Custom Parts 84-87 Turbo Regals, Olds G-Body Cars, S-10 Blazers/Pickups has on his site. IMOP his exhaust looks the best

I put the pypes 2 1/2" cat back on my car.....Its the gnx style exhaust much better flowing than stock gn and the pypes race flow mufflers are a strait through wrap style. Imo its the best value for the money, they are identical to the hooker cat back, and are stainless steel, installation was simple, the tail pipes have the correct cut like gm and it sounds good. Look it up on youtube there is a vid of a t type at idle with the pypes system....The muffler shop is probably gunna sell u a 2 1/4" hydraulic bent system... the cat backs are the way to go... they are mandrel bent, which means there is no crimping at a bend they keep a true diameter through a bend which helps flow especially on a turbo car...good luck
