Check out this RARE 1987 Grand National with Grey Carpet
1987 Buick Grand National

isn't that a dead give away as to not a real GN

Low Miles under 25k with Grey Carpet and crank windows

VIN: 1G4GJ1178HP445730

I have never seen a 87 GN with Grey carpet -- is this we4 or t-type or an owner for something new???

Just emailed the seller asking for a pic of the RPO label so I can see how the car was optioned. Wonder if I'll get a reply.

David
87GN

the carpet on the doors is gray too. suppose to be black on the gn aint it?as far as the window cranks, ive seen that before. hell,i seen a gn with an am radio.

These items should be black:

Lower door panels inserts
Lower console
Carpet

It looks like someone took a WE4 and switched the GN seats and rims and slapped some badges on it. Ok, that and added a rear spoiler and the dash plate above the glovebox.

I think for 25K miles it should still have the door pull snaps intact.

Also, what's hiding under the horn button?

three possibilities come to mind:

#1: on eof those "factory goofs" that much like bigfoot everybody talks about yet nobody credible has ever actually seen

#2: for one reason or another interior trim was changed by a previous owner

#3: not a real GN

Gotta go with David's line of thought: if the rpo label is conveniently missing I'd be very leary......

oh yeah, the material on the upper door panels doesn't look kosher either............

Also, the rear trunk lid emblem is in the wrong place. It's too far to the right. Looks like someone dropped some cash to get the higher resale values. Probably should have swapped the carpet and had a repro rpo label fabricated to pull this scam off.

It has we4 code

Sent an email to eBay seller:

I stated the following
You asked:
"This is a CLONE GN wanna be. Look at gsnationals.com to see a real grand national. The floor carpet is grey when it should be black, the material by the window crank should be same grey material as used on seats. The charge air cooler has no numbers.. Where is the photo of the rpo codes that say it is we2 grand national. The emblems and protective body side moldings have been reapplied, due to new paint! If it is real, proof it with rpo photo located in trunk. All grand nationals in 1987 had black floor carpet."

This car has the WE4 option that was available only in 1987. Only 1,547 of these exact cars were ever made.
