87 T Type vinyl Top

Im new to this site and new owner of a 87 T Type. I have searched and found many conflicting post. The vinyl top is shot and I would like to remove it and go hard top. Do I need to get GN or hard top regal quarter glass or can I use vinyl top quarter glass?

I think you need new (aka different) 1/4 glass to make the change.

You probably guessed this was coming but .....Maybe think about it a little - its very rare!

x2. Replace the old vinyl with new vinyl and you're good to go. I guarantee your car will stand out more than most. Pretty rare to see the vinyl tops anymore *(great for sleepers)

Keep it a vinyl top. There's rivets welded to the sheet metal all around the top to hold the trim. Those would need ground off then bodywork. Major pita on a roof. The seem between the quarters and the roof will also need attention, as GM didn't smooth that area out near as much on a vinyl top car.
