Who has the best 9/11 converter.I have an Art Carr 9/11 but it is making a little rattling/knocking noise under light throttle.I was wondering if this is common or should i get someone to check it out or maybe get another brand.Any info would really help!!!!!

I wasnt aware of an art carr 9/11.Just about every one ive had that had a problem usually had a problem with cracking of the plastic lock up seal unit in the nose of the converter. Most were damaged in shipping from being jolted around. All that opened them up stated the design was poor and showed me the stocker and i understood why. There are much more efficient pieces available out there. No ,I dont mean what I sell either.Look into a PTC or Precision unit.I have seen a few in action and been in vehicles with them and they seem to work well.

Hey Chris,Thanks for the info.It was sold to me as an Art Carr but i'm not positive of it.It looks like one I purchased a few years ago for another car and different vendor PMAC.I had a problem with that converter also not locking up until 95mph under full throttle. What do you recommend,I need one 2800-3000 range lockup and mainly street and some strip. Thanks

You got something else going on too...

I haven't had this problem with any of ours. I wonder what it is that is causing it. Does this converter have ANY numbers on it? Did PTS sell it?
If so, I want to know about it and would be willing to find out.
Let me know

Hi Bruce,From what I remember it had numbers on it but I do not think I can see them with it in the car but I will check and let you know.It looks exactly like another I had from Mike Kurtz (PMAC) a few years ago.It is painted black but is not the billet one like I see from PTS.I will try and get you numbers or hope to have it out of the car by this weekend and I could send you pictures. What do you recommend? Do you deal with converters? Thanks alot for your help!!!! Phillip

You should be able to read the numbers just by taking off the inspection cover. They will be stamped on the trans side of the converter on the bowl. let me know if i can help.

Got a billet 9x11 here and had it for several years with no problems. Was pricey from what I remember but you know what they say about cheap stuff.

Got it from Bruce and couldn't be happier!
